THE SCIENCE

The Full Story

Our nonprofit, “Neurogenesis for Veterans, the Incarcerated, and their Families” strives to provide resources to restore brain health among the most vulnerable.  We utilize new innovative, economical, and noninvasive neurofeedback technology coupled with Compassion Integrity Training life skills to enable recovery by the brain’s natural ability of neuroplasticity.  Specifically, from a trauma informed care perspective, we believe we can foster the development of resiliency among the veteran and incarcerated communities and families.  We seek to collaborate and complement established successful ministries and other non-profit organizations which are providing support to those affected by traumatic stress. Our goal is to expand the use evidence-based treatment of mindfulness-based cognitive behavior therapy among the uninsured and most marginalized in our society today.  These treatments, based on neuroplasticity, are making remarkable inroads in brain healing.  NGVIF has developed a well-qualified and experienced board of directors that are veterans, former inmates, neurologists, public health management, psychotherapists, and prison volunteers.
